SW102 Firmware

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 17, 2026

The SW102 firmware is not an app - it's software that runs entirely on the display's own hardware. It has no internet connectivity of any kind, and nothing is ever sent anywhere online.

1. What This Firmware Does

This is open-source firmware for the Bafang SW102 display, replacing the stock firmware entirely. It reads live telemetry from a genuine Bafang mid-drive controller over a wired UART connection and shows it on the display's own screen - speed, power, battery, assist level, trip, and range.

2. Data Stored on the Display

The firmware stores a small amount of data directly in the display's own flash memory - never anywhere else:

This data never leaves the display. A factory reset from the on-screen menu clears it.

3. Bluetooth

The display's Bluetooth radio is used only to install firmware updates (DFU) from a phone. It does not connect to the internet, does not pair with any app for data exchange, and transmits no riding data over Bluetooth.

4. Data We Do Not Collect

Because the firmware has no internet connectivity and no backend server, we do not collect, log, or have access to any of the following:

5. Children's Privacy

This firmware is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

6. Changes to This Policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
