LabDroid reads data from your phone's sensors, location, cameras, battery, connectivity and other hardware components through official, public Android APIs, and displays it inside the app. All reading and processing happens locally on your device.
LabDroid asks for a permission from the screen that needs it. You can deny any of them - the related readings are then simply not available. The current state of every permission is visible in the app's Settings.
LabDroid does not collect, store remotely, or transmit any data to us or anyone else. Specifically:
LabDroid stores the following data in your device's local app storage:
The only data that leaves the app is a file you explicitly choose to export (CSV, JSON, XML, TXT or GPX) or share using your device's own share function. You can clear all stored data at any time from the app's Settings, by clearing the app's storage in your device settings, or by uninstalling the app.
If Android's own backup is turned on in your device settings, the system may include these app preferences and recordings in your personal device backup. This is handled by Android under your account, not by LabDroid.
LabDroid gets your position through the Fused Location Provider of Google Play services already installed on your phone. LabDroid itself never sends your location anywhere. Google Play services is part of your device's system software and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
LabDroid includes no advertising SDKs, no analytics libraries and no crash-reporting services.
LabDroid is not distributed through the Google Play Store; the official APK is available only from the LabDroid GitHub repository.
LabDroid is not directed at children under the age of 13 and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
If we update this Privacy Policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
