EggSPEED Bluetooth Module
A tiny converter that plugs into your Bafang controller in place of the display and lets the EggSPEED app talk to it over Bluetooth. Read and program every setting, ride with the live Cockpit - with no cable between your phone and the bike.
The module is not sold - it is a free, step-by-step build guide with photos, wiring diagrams and a video. Common parts, a soldering iron and a multimeter are all you need.

The module plugs into the controller's HIGO 5-pin connector - the one your display or programming cable uses. It takes its power from the bike battery: no batteries, no charging.

Pair EggSPEED-BT in your phone's Bluetooth settings, then pick it in EggSPEED under Settings > Connection. That's the whole setup.

Tap Connect and you're in: live Cockpit, full configuration and validated writes - exactly as over the cable, with the phone wherever you want it.
Inside there are just three things: a Bluetooth serial module (DSD TECH BT-06 or a generic HC-06), a step-down converter that turns the battery voltage into 5V, and two resistors that bring the controller's 5V signal down to a safe level for the module.
Wrapped in Kapton tape or dropped into a small 3D-printed case, it stays on the bike for good - right where the display or programming cable would plug in.
Everything EggSPEED does over the USB OTG cable works the same way over the module: read and program every Basic, Pedal Assist, Throttle and assist-level setting, ride with the live Cockpit - speed, power, current, voltage, battery, range - and use Monitoring, Trip history, PROTECT and the rest.
No more phone dangling on a cable from the controller: mount it on the bars, keep it in a pocket, or program the bike from the workbench.
You need a BT-06 (or HC-06) Bluetooth module, a 5-60V to 5V step-down converter, a cable with a HIGO 5-pin plug, a 10kΩ and a 22kΩ resistor, some wire and heat-shrink. Tools: a soldering iron and a multimeter.
Step 1 - set the module to 1200 baud once, from a Windows PC with the Bafang programming cable you already have. Step 2 - solder the converter, following the photos. Step 3 - pair it and connect EggSPEED.
Both manuals, the pinout, the wiring diagram and troubleshooting tips are on GitHub.
All communication between EggSPEED and the controller goes over Bluetooth - no cable between the phone and the bike at all.
Tested on factory OEM Bafang firmware and on BBS-FW (on a BBSHD), for BBS01 / BBS02 / BBSHD mid-drives.
Runs from the battery through the controller connector - no battery of its own, nothing to charge.
Set your own Bluetooth name and PIN when you program the module, so nobody nearby can pair with your bike.
Plugs into the same HIGO 5-pin socket as the display and the programming cable - nothing to cut or modify on the bike.
A measured 10kΩ/22kΩ divider keeps the controller's 5V signal at a clean, safe level for the 3.3V module.
Two manuals with photos of every soldering step, a wiring diagram, troubleshooting tips and a setup video.
Supported by EggSPEED v0.6.1 and newer - free on Google Play for Android 8.0+.
Insulate everything. The P+ line carries the full battery voltage and is live even with the controller off - it must never touch the signal pins.
Switch the battery off after riding. While plugged in, the module keeps the controller awake and draws a little power for as long as the battery is on.
Change the default PIN. With 1234, anyone nearby could pair with the module while the battery is on.
The module is a plain Bluetooth-to-serial bridge: it passes data between EggSPEED and the controller and nothing else. It has no internet connection, no app of its own and stores nothing about you.
